๐ฅ GROK Nesting Guide
Want to start a family? Here's how nesting works in The Isle: Evrima.
Nesting allows you to create eggs and bring other players into your family as hatchlings.
๐ฆ STEP 1 โ Find a Mate
You need a male and female of the same species.
Both players should be prime adults for nesting. Make sure you aren't already in a party. Face each other. The male starts the courting interaction by holding N. The female then holds N when prompted. Check your TAB menu to confirm that you are paired.
๐ฅ STEP 2 โ Prepare Your Eggs
The female manages the eggs through the Nest menu.
Open TAB. Go to the Nest section. Select how many eggs you want to gestate. Make sure you have plenty of food and water beforehand. A good diet is recommended before producing eggs.

๐ก Tip: Don't start nesting while you're starving or dehydrated. Producing eggs uses your resources.
๐๏ธ STEP 3 โ Build Your Nest
Once you're paired:
Find a safe location. Look at the ground where you want the nest. Press N. Use B to select/build the nest. Follow the prompts to finish building it.
Some species require branches/debris to build their nest. Use your scent ability to locate what you need.
Choose your location carefully!
Try to find somewhere:
Near water Near food Away from obvious predator routes Easy for your group to defend.

๐ก๏ธ STEP 4 โ Incubate the Eggs
Once the female has laid the eggs, they need to incubate.
Stay with the nest. Sitting/lying on the nest helps keep it warm. You can monitor the nest through the TAB โ Nest menu. Temperature affects incubation and can influence hatchling sex.
Keep an eye on your nest! Other dinosaurs can detect and eat eggs.

๐ถ STEP 5 โ Invite Players
You can choose whether your nest is Public or Private.
Public
Other players can request to join your nest.
Private
You can share the nest code with the players you want to invite.
When someone joins your nest, they are assigned an egg and can choose when to hatch.
๐ฃ STEP 6 โ Hatch!
Once the egg is ready:
The player joining the nest can hatch from the egg.
After hatching:
Stay close to your parents/group. Follow them to food and water. Avoid unnecessary fights. Listen for danger. Grow safely.
Hatchlings need to leave the nest before they can normally be fed, and parents can feed them while they're still very young.
๐ STEP 7 โ Feed Your Hatchlings
Parents should keep the babies fed.
Good food = better growth.
Hatchlings inherit the diet of the player feeding them, so parents should try to maintain a good diet and provide appropriate food.
As they grow, they eventually become too large to beg and will need to find and eat appropriate food themselves.

โ ๏ธ IMPORTANT
Protect your nest!
Eggs can be detected by other dinosaurs and maybe eaten.
Once your eggs have hatched:
๐๏ธ Destroy the nest and remove any rotten/unfertilized eggs.
This helps prevent other players from tracking your old nest.
